I love painting. Have done since I was a toddler. My parents put me in private art classes when I was 11, and gave me a watercolor paint kit when I was 12. I used to hide out in the art room in Grade 8 before morning homeroom, trying acrylics on canvas for the first time. I won poster contests. I got into painting a set for the highschool theatre sometime in Grade 11 I think, and then a bit more while at UVic studying & practising theatre. When I moved to Toronto in 2003 I began assisting & painting for a set designer in theatre, and things just kept going from there.
The majority of my work these days is in scenic painting for theatre and film. Since moving to Vancouver in 2016 I've done a lot of work at a scene shop in Burnaby called Scenic Oasis, where I was the Head Painter from April 2017 - October 2018, doing sets & props for commercials. I also work at Great Northern Way Scene Shop, doing mostly theatre sets & special events. I am currently expanding my network of employers and opportunities, so please get in touch if you're looking for a painter.
